The American Watch Guild
Hosts its Annual Major Watch Show
at the Cradle of Aviation.
Garden City, N.Y. The Cradle of Aviation Museum is pleased to announce that the American Watch Guild will host its annual watch show at the Cradle on November 18th and 19th.
The show, A Concours dElegance of Time, will feature impressive timepieces from many watch manufacturers. The public will be invited to view and purchase timepieces including some new niche brand watches and watches from ateliers with factories in Switzerland. A representative from Christies will be available to provide free watch appraisals each afternoon during the show.
The Cradle of Aviation is the perfect venue in which to hold this major show, said Bert Kalisher, Executive Editor of Chronos Magazine. The relationship between aviation and watches is long and storied, beginning with aviation pioneer, Alberto-Santos Dumont who complained to his good friend Louis Cartier that he did not have time under control while at the controls of his balloon. Cartier created for Santos the first commercial wristwatch.
Visitors to the show will be provided with ample opportunity to meet the watchmakers representatives who will demonstrate the various timepieces and answer questions. Admission to the show also includes admission to the Cradle of Aviations museum galleries. Admission is $9.00 for adults, $8.00 for seniors and children (2-12). The show will run Saturday, November 18th and Sunday, November 19th from 10am to 5pm.
The Cradle of Aviation is located on Charles Lindbergh Blvd., in Garden City.
