Cradle of Aviation Museum's Exploring Mars Family Program
Date: January 24, 2004
Time: 12:30 - 4:00 pm
Location: Exhibit Space Galleries
In honor of the 2003 Mars rovers, Spirit and Opportunity, the Cradle of Aviation will be taking an in-depth look at the planet Mars and what these two robotic explorers hope to accomplish. The Spirit and Opportunity will be taking pictures and looking for evidence of liquid water that may have been present in the past. This new exploration comes just a few weeks after the European, Mars Express and British, Beagle 2 spacecrafts entered the Mars atmosphere to conduct additional research and investigations. With the successful landing of the Spirit on January 3, there has been a renewed interest in Mars and its future possibilities and discoveries. The scheduled landing for Opportunity will take place on January 24, 2004.
